2017 Black Friday Deals, Home Decor Edition

home decor shopping guide

I don’t know about you, but I love getting a deal. I will pick an item I want and stalk it for months, waiting until the price hits rock bottom before I buy it. My husband is the same way, and he will decide in March that we need something and be like “Let’s wait and see what the price is on Black Friday.” This year I’m on the hunt for a robotic vacuum, my house is a crumb factory and I would love to not sweep it by hand four times a day. (Does anyone have one of these? Are they worth the money?) Anyway, we all know that Black Friday is great for getting deals on TV’s and tech stuff, but I’m here to let you know about sales on other (prettier) home items. Below is a list of stores and their sales, click on the store name to be taken to the homepage and click on an item image to be taken directly to that item. Most of these sales are live right now, no need to wait!

*This post contains affiliate links, see my full affiliate disclosure here.  Also, if you are reading this in your e-mail then you will have to click over to my actual website to be able to see most of the links and images, for some reason these haven’t been showing up in e-mails lately.*

West Elm

Admit it, you love West Elm. So do I. There black Friday sales this year aren’t crazy amazing, but if you’ve been eyeing some of their furniture it might just be time to pull the trigger (or combine your order with a friend to get the bigger discount). Here is what they are offering, use code SAVEMORE.

  • 15% off on orders of $100 or more
  • 20% off on orders of $500 or more
  • 25% off on orders of $1000 or more
  • 30% off on orders of $3000 or more

Here are a few of my favorite West Elm things (I REALLY want their Hamilton or Andes leather sectionals…one day…)

Article

Article is an online furniture retailer, and from what I can tell (and have heard) their stuff is great quality for a fair price. Their Black Friday deal is pretty good too, offering 30% off select furniture. My favorites are this leather sofa and this green velvet one.

Overstock

Overstock’s ad scan is full of individual deals rather than discounts by category, so you are going to have to click over and check to out for yourself. It looks there will be lots of great sales on rugs and furniture, plus the Bobsweep pet hair robotic vacuum for $189 (72% off they claim…but it’s $270 on Amazon) caught my eye. Here are a few other great doorbusters –

Anthropologie

You probably already painfully aware that Anthro has fun, unique stuff….and if you give them all your money they will let you take some of it home. For Black Friday they are offering 30% off everything (including sale!), which isn’t too shabby. The sale isn’t live yet and they haven’t released the code, but I’ll update this post when they do.

Etsy

I love love love Etsy, and if you are looking for unique home decor and gifts, then this is the place to go. Etsy is different from the rest of the stores listed because it is handmade and vintage items sold directly by the maker, so each shop will be having different sales. Here are a few items I found that are marked down –

Amazon

Amazon has amazing deals for Black Friday, but they are also super confusing and hard to keep up with. Deals are ever changing, have no rhyme or reason, and are only available for a set amount of time. The best way to keep is first to be a member of Prime. There are countless benefits to being an Amazon Prime member (I’ve been a member for about a decade) and one of them is that you get early access to deals. You can sign up for a 30 day free trial, get free two-day shipping for all your Christmas shopping, and cancel if you want. Anyway, next you can go to the Amazon Black Friday deals page, select upcoming, and find the items you want. You can use your Amazon app you alert you when the deal you want is available. I seriously hate the way they do this, but they cover a lot of ground and chances are that thing (or 12) that’s been sitting in your cart for forever will get marked down at some point this week.

Natural Area Rugs

A few months ago I bought a 9×12 seagrass rug from Natural Area Rugs. I wasn’t sure if that was a good move or not, but I’m actually surprised how much I love it. It’s easy to care for, looks amazing, doesn’t stain, and my pattern hating husband approves wholeheartedly. While seagrass isn’t a soft cuddly type of rug, it’s also not scratchy like I was expecting. For Black Friday they are offering –

  • $100 off of $300 (code BF1701)
  • $75 off of $200 (code BF1702)
  • $50 off of $150 (code BF1703)

Natural area rugs also has free shipping and sends you a free rug pad with each purchase. I’m seriously thinking about to pulling the trigger on a 12×15 seagrass rug for the living room for only $339. That is a huge rug for a great price!

Target

It’s no surprise that Target goes big on Black Friday and Cyber Monday, and below are some of my favorites deals. The good news is that they are all legit good deals (think 50% off), the bad news is that you need a REDcard to access some of them (which I don’t…boo Target).

Houzz

If you’ve been reading Domestic Imperfection for a while then you are probably aware of my love for Houzz. It is an amazing resource for anything home related (so much better than Pinterest) and the forums are a wealth of information. Also? You can shop on Houzz. They have a ton of stuff… a ton, like comparative to Amazon or Wayfair. They are being pretty elusive with their black Friday sales, but as far as I can tell there will be up to 80% all kinds of home goodies. Check it out here.

World Market

For Black Friday this year, World Market is offering 40% off all furniture (except outdoor) using code FURNSALE. World Market furniture is already reasonably priced, so if it’s furniture you need then I would definitely check it out. Here are some of my favorite pieces. They are also offering buy one get one free mugs, candles, toys, and 50% off bedding.

Crate& Barrel

For Black Friday this year Crate & Barrel is offering 15% off of all full-priced items using code SAVE15 and up to 40% off furniture. CB2 is offering the same deal.

Lulu & Georgia

Lulu and Georgia is a bit on the pricey side, but if you stick with accessories and smaller things you can find some nice stuff for a decent price. Also the 25% off of everything they are offering for Black Friday doesn’t hurt (use code GOGOGO).

Home Depot

If it’s appliances you need, then Black Friday is the time to buy. Home Depot is offering 40% off select appliances, plus an additional $50 off of two appliances, $100 off three, etc., up to $500 off. It’s also worth mentioning that in store they will have poinsettias on sale for 99 cents each!

Wayfair, Joss & Main, AllModern, Birch Lane

These are all sister sites and pretty much dominate the internet when it comes to items for the home. Their Black Friday previews claim to have most of their categories marked up to 80% off of MSRP. I don’t really believe in MSRP…companies always say they are higher than they really are just to make the sales look better, but I’m sure the deals will still be good. I have personally bought quite a few things off of Wayfair, here are some of my favorites –

Serena & Lily

Serena & Lily sells beautiful luxury home items, and through 11/28 you can use the code CHEERS to get an additional 20% off everything (even sale items!)

There are a few other stores that haven’t yet released their sales (Pottery Barn, I’m looking at you), and I will update this post as the deals come out, so check back! Anyway, I hope everyone has an absolutely wonderful Thanksgiving. I’ll be over here stuffing my face with sweet potato casserole and pecan pie, while everyone else wastes their time eating things like turkey and stuffing.

Your choices are lovely! I could imagine any one of them in your home.
Here is Julia’s post about her robot vacuum purchase. She loves hers. If I didn’t have a dog who was terrified of anything inanimate that moves, I would definitely get one!

I LOVE my refurbished Neato that we got off of Walmart.com a few years ago. LOVE!! We named her Radja and she even goes on vacation to the beach with us. Why should I vacuum at the beach while she’s taking a week off at home? She has cut down on the frustration level beyond belief in our household. Seriously….. saved our marriage. My hubbies primary gift in life is dragging in ALL the outdoors. Radja cleans it all without complaining and muttering under her breath the entire time. She would be rescued in a fire. No way is my beloved domestic helper going to be hurt after all she has done for us the past 3 years.
The company customer service has been amazing also. Based in USA and they actually answer the phone and talk to you!! They helped me several times over the phone fix something within minutes. We have only had to buy her a new rechargeable battery in all this time. Beyond worth it!
Your boys and friends will be fascinated with her. Everyone just stops and stares and she completes her tasks.

Ha – I just read the first comments after doing my post. I didn’t know that it was on Neato also! After all research that’s what I decided on also over 3 years ago. I stalked Walmart.com til a refurbished one was listed and snagged it.
Not sure if they still do that or not.

Thank you for your glowing review, that makes me even more excited to get one! In my vacuum research I decided Neato was the best, but I eliminated it because of the price. Then after this I spent my evening watching youtube videos comparing all the different types of robotic vacuums (I’m the coolest person you know, haha) and now I want the Neato again. We will see what kind of deals I can find!

I have a robotic vacuum and I love it. My pup sheds a lot and without it I have to vacuum daily. Now I actual vacuum and sweep about once a week.

Also in case like me you didnt know, you can now get a Target red card that just connects to your checking account like a debit card. Its not only a credit card anymore! Target is my second home now.

Giving Target access to your bank account sounds strange and risky. A Debit Card is easy to use so why allow a retailer such access?
I could be missing something, but Target is the big winner here and the customer assumes the risk. I am remembering Target had a large credit breach in recent years. Just thinking…..

I’ve had the top of the line irobot 980 I think, for a couple months now. I love it. I have 2 kids, 2 cats, a dog, and live in the country, and three new wool rugs. I don’t even use the app, I just run it anytime I’m home so I can empty him and remove anything that gets stuck. We’re still getting settled, so he eats random dinosaurs and rocks every now and again and needs assistance. He works great. I just vacuum the area rugs once a week if that and everything always looks fairly clean. Totally worth the money!

I don’t know if you have an Aldi near you, but I noticed they’re releasing a Rhoomba-type vacuum this coming week for $100! I wish someone would buy and review all their appliances so we could see how they could compare to the namebrands. :) Hope you got some good deals this year! I went out on Thanksgiving and bought a shirt for my dad and it turned out it wasn’t even on sale, haha. :)

These are all so lovely! I have definitely made #4 and #5 a part of my life in the last year, and it’s made a HUGE difference in my daily happiness. I really liked your advice and suggestions in #1, 6, and 7, and I will strive to make those happen for myself this spring. Great words, as always. Thank you Sarah 🙂carpet cleaning company

I do still have it, and it’s been painted copper for awhile now, which would go well. But I’m trying to keep as much counter space clear as possible: if it’s not necessary, it doesn’t stay out.rug cleaning fayetteville nc

I feel you about that fridge, except my #lifegoal (ugh) is a pink one. I already have the matching pink kitchenaid. As I tell my fiancé, darling, I understand your objections, and as soon as you start cooking breakfast, lunch, and dinner while I play fallout 4 on my shiny new PS4, you can start discussing with me how we outfit the kitchen. I really enjoyed this post. (Always awaiting your next one) Laughing my way through. As an avowed serial painter I have learned never to use tape. It adds like 16 extra unnecessary hours to a job. Also guilty of not painting the ceilings and completely regretting it later. Lazy. Do you mind if I put a link to this post on my blog? I would love to share as I am painting my stairway hall from top to floors and you have a very witty tutorial here.custom paint by numbers
