Happy Friday y’all! Today I have a great giveaway for you…well, only if you think great is winning 100 bucks to spend however your heart desires at Kirklands. I for one happen to think that’s pretty great.

For those of you that have never heard of Kirklands, they are a home decor store (and you can shop in person or online). I go there fairly often, I have a strip mall nearish to my house that has Target, Home Goods, World Market, Kirklands and Hobby Lobby all right next to each other. I know, be jealous. So a few weeks ago when Kirklands reached out to me I was pretty excited. They wanted to help me with a room that I had chosen to overhaul in 2103. They call it “Kirklands Room Resolutions”… I’ll have to forgive them for using the “R” word, they don’t know that I now only make “loose goals“. Anyway, allow me to show you some of the things that I really liked on my last trip.

First thing to catch my eye was this turquoise floor lamp. Not only is it turquoise, it’s also distressed AND dirty cowboyed…it has Ashley written all over it.

I also really liked this giant floor mirror. I’m pretty sure I want to put a floor mirror in my birch forest hallway and this one was marked down from $200 bucks to $129 and was truly giant. I might have snagged it if the frame was more my style.

I loved these cute little birds for $6.99 a pop, and they even had smaller ones for $3.99.  And as you know, everything looks better with a bird on it.

I almost went home with three of these chairs.

Do y’all remember my “slipcover fail” post where I tried to make covers for my current dining room chairs and failed miserably?  I still haven’t touched them because…well, because I just don’t feel like it. I don’t want to mess with my chairs anymore, I hate doing it, and I just want new ones to appear where I don’t have to DIY a thing. These looked like what I had in mind in for my chairs but without any work. They were $79 a pop (cheaper with coupons) and if I sell my current chairs I can get out of this whole chair thing pretty cheap. But, I just couldn’t pull the trigger…mainly because I’m still madly in love with these galvanized chairs from Crate and Barrel. Those make my heart flutter, but at $200 a pop they might as well be a million dollars.

Then there was this adorable veggie straw eating baby, and I just knew I had to take him home.

Seriously, I had too….shortly after this he had a major meltdown and no one else was going to do it.

Then I stumbled across…wait for it…the cowboy section. The cowboy section ON SALE. I’m redoing my boys room in a cowboy theme and I did go home with a couple things from this section.

You can also purchase stuff from Kirklands.com, they have stuff on there that isn’t in the store. I was perusing the lighting section and ran into this…

 

At first I thought “that’s interesting”. Then I kept going back to it and the more I did, the more I liked it. Then I decided I loved it and thought a pair of them would look great in the master bedroom overhaul I’m planning. So I showed them to the hubs for final approval, and he said no way. Actually he said “What is that like and upside down vase with a cord through it? Wait, is that GOLD? No gold. Veto.” At that point I didn’t even bother telling him that I wanted to put green shades on them.
